The Building Information Foundation RTS is Finland's leading information service for the building and construction sector. Its mission is to foster and promote good planning and construction practices as well as sound property management procedures. M1 label also for Air Filters

The cleanliness classification of air-handling components is part of Classification of Indoor Climate 2000, which is intended to be used in the design and construction of healthier and more comfortable buildings and their mechanical systems. The classifications have been granted for ducts, fittings, air and fire dampers since 2001.

Now there is a possibility to have a cleanliness classification also for air filters. The products are to be tested according to the testing protocol of air filters to meet the requirements for M1 cleanliness classification.

Components within classification
The cleanliness classification can be granted for ducts, fittings, air and fire dampers and air filters.

Only one class for classification: M1
There is only one class for classification, M1. Products, packaging, product specifications or instructions for use can be labelled with the label of the class M1. The classification labels are granted by the Building Information Foundation RTS.
