About us

Building Information Foundation RTS is a public-interest, impartial and independent Finnish influencer in the real estate and construction sector. The purpose of the foundation is to promote good planning and construction practices as well as good property management practices.

Building Information Foundation RTS includes a research, development and innovation unit which core task is to strengthen the conditions of the real estate and construction sector for creating a functional, safe and sustainable built environment. The objective of this work is to improve productivity in the real estate and construction sector and to highlight new opportunities for economic growth related to the future of construction and the use of the built environment.

As a public-interest organization, the foundation also supports science and the arts within its field. The foundation organizes public lectures and discussion events and awards scholarships, prizes and recognitions.

RTS Group

Building Information Foundation RTS is part of the RTS Group, which also includes the foundation-owned Rakennustieto Oy,Building Information Model Ltd., and ET Infokeskuse AS.

Building Information Foundation is responsible for the management of the RTS Group, strategic planning, committee activities, as well as public affairs and stakeholder relations. The RTS Group operates information services. The research, development and innovation unit supports the RTS Group’s ability to proactively develop information products and services. The foundation seeks broad acceptance of its guidelines among industry stakeholders, with committees playing a key role in this process.

The companies implement the foundation’s purpose as operational entities.
