Accessibility doesn’t only mean ramps and elevators. It means having the opportunity to take part—in school, in hobbies, and during leisure time. Many children with disabilities face situations where a hobby venue is not accessible or shared activities have not been designed so that everyone can participate.
Every child has the right to be heard, to participate, and to grow into their community as themselves.
The Finnish Association of People with Physical Disabilities (Invalidiliitto) does important work to ensure that the rights of children and young people with disabilities are realized in everyday life—not just on paper. Donating to Invalidiliitto’s work is one way to make an impact. Invalidiliitto promotes and develops opportunities for people with physical disabilities and mobility impairments to participate, move around, and live full lives. The goal of its advocacy work is to develop and safeguard everyday services and support measures, especially for people with physical disabilities and mobility impairments. These often relate to assistance, housing, mobility, and enabling individuals to live a life that reflects who they are.
With a donation to the ongoing 2026 children’s campaign, we are supporting the right of children with disabilities to a full and equal childhood. Advocacy, guidance, sharing information, and cooperation with decision-makers are key ways to build a society where no child is excluded because of a disability.
