The Building Information Foundation has been selected as a partner in the European Commission’s New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative. Launched in 2020, the initiative aims to promote a beautiful, sustainable and inclusive built environment. The initiative seeks new ways to create a beautiful and sustainable future together with residents and communities. New European Bauhaus (NEB) is a policy and funding initiative that makes green transition in built environments and beyond enjoyable, attractive and convenient for all.
The New European Bauhaus brings innovation, ambition and creativity together. It calls on all Europeans to imagine and build a sustainable and inclusive future that is beautiful for our eyes, minds, and souls.
Official NEB partners have committed to support the initiative in one or more of the following:
- gathering a diversity of professionals from across disciplines to generate ideas
- identifying inspirational projects, practices or concepts
- engaging with citizens to discuss and collect needs and expectations
In addition to the Finnish Building Information Foundation, NEB partners include Aalto University, Aalto University’s Cumulus network, the Association for Accessible Art and Culture, Metropolia University of Applied Sciences, the Savo Musical Society, and the SELMA Research Center operating in connection with the University of Turku. Archinfo Finland acts as the Finnish contact point for the NEB initiative, where its task is to disseminate information on, among other things, the initiative’s funding opportunities and the New European Bauhaus Awards and Festival.
Local action for the betterment of the built environment
The Building Information Foundation has several ongoing projects that support the NEB initiative. For example: Ilmiöverkosto -collects change phenomena from research and literature in the field, enriches them with experts and entrepreneurs in the field, and refines them into an understandable overall picture that is accessible and usable by everyone.
All Foundation’s projects are implemented together with experts in the field. The foundation has a long tradition of cooperation with industry players. Hundreds of experts work in our committees every year, seeking solutions to current issues in the real estate and construction industry and promoting the spread of good practices. The committees represent the best expertise in the real estate and construction industry and the views of various parties in the industry.
